Hello everyone! A note is going home today about Teacher Appreciation Week next week (May 13-17). As most of you know, I'll be gone the last few days of school for my trip to Italy. My last day is May 14...I just wanted to make sure you knew in case you decided to send something. I'm sure the sub would appreciate it though :)

Hello everyone! We've had several changes and additions to our upcoming schedule.
**May 8--Field Trip. Please have your child bring a sack lunch if they didn't sign up for a school sack lunch. The 3 students who signed up for a school lunch have a note in their take home folder as a reminder. We'll leave around 8:00 and return at 1:30. **May 9--Fun Run. We'll have the Fun Run at 8:30 in the north field weather permitting or 10:45 in the gym if it's raining or too wet. **May 10--Field Day. Your child will need to bring a sack lunch unless they signed up for a school sack lunch. The 4 kids who signed up for a school lunch have a piece of paper in their take home folder as a reminder. We'll start at the high school track at 10:15 and eat lunch at the VFW park at 11:45. **May 13--Colonial Fair. We had to move Colonial Fair since we moved Field Day. It will be from 1:00-3:00 in the small gym. Here are a few important dates that have been on my weebly and other additional activities.

The students have been working really hard on the products they'll "sell" on May 10th. This will occur from 1:00-2:50 in the small gym and parents are more than welcome to come and see what we've been working on. We are Native Americans. **May 17 last day of school. Full day. Parents,
Our class is having a blast preparing for the Tonganoxie Braves Fun Run coming up soon! We've also begun to learn how to solve problems using character through Boosterthon's character theme, MindSpark Mystery Lab. While they're teaming up with the MindSpark Kids to solve mysteries, your students will learn five 21st-century character traits that will help strengthen themselves and our world. Make sure to ask your students what they've learned each day, and together you can watch the story unfold on funrun.com! Remember, we need your help connecting to sponsors who can make a pledge to help our school! Please make sure all pledges for the Tonganoxie Braves Fun Run are entered on funrun.com. The more pledges we get, the more incentives our class earns on our Pledge-O-Meter. Thank you for your generosity and support of our school. If you have any questions, please let me know. Have a great day! P.S. Make sure to register your child on funrun.com. Use our school registration code: 637868 Close ATTENTION ALL UPCOMING 6TH GRADE PARENTS!! **Super Bowl party Feb. 1. We have done several academic competitions with our own Super Bowl teams and I thought it would be fun to have a small Super Bowl party at the end of the day Friday, Feb. 1. I realize this is kind of last minute so don't worry about it at all if you can't send something in with your child for the class. Examples...chips, pretzels, drinks, sweets, etc. I will bring several items so once again don't worry about it at all if you don't have time to get something. Thanks! **Picture Day Tuesday, Feb. 5. **Chap. 11 Math test Wednesday, Feb. 6. **Music Program Thursday, Feb. 7 at TES at 7:30. Please have your child report to my classroom at 7:15. **Halloween--the Halloween party is October 31 from 1:15-1:45. Please send me a Remind text or a note letting me know if you’re interested in sending treats or would like to help out. Here are a few items we’ve had in the past but if you have other ideas please let me know….treat bags, drinks, cupcakes, cookies, etc. **Picture Day--October 2 **Math test---October 4. The study guide will be sent home Oct 3. Please look this over with your child and have them bring it back to class Oct 4 so we can discuss it before the test. **KC Symphony field trip--October 16. All 5th grade students will go. I wish we could take parents with us but the symphony is packed every year and only allows us to bring our students. The music teachers typically ask the students to wear something nice. **No school Oct 17-19 because of PT conferences. A note will be sent home in the near future regarding PT conferences. I look forward to meeting all of you to discuss the wonderful things your child has done so far this year!! |
